LILLE METROPOLITAN SQUARE

Luminescences

After dark, a blanket of light invites the public to rediscover the outdoor spaces.

Light-emitting fireflies punctuate the outside areas, while the inaccessible forests, representing biodiversity reserves, remain plunged into darkness.

Much as a second sensitive skin, the light installation comes to life at a quiet and slow tempo, allowing the building to breathe, in a highly coloured allegory. Luminous and dynamic compositions are pre-recorded in order to renew this breathing throughout the seasons and all year round.

The monumental entrances to the patios become arches of light, totems in the night and sculptures to explore.

The nights of the Metropolitan Square adapt to the rhythm of the city of Lille, alternating between three different intensities every night: active, urban and natural.
